Election Season...

Ahhh the election season is in full swing. And as I drive around town I see a bunch of terribly designed campaign logos on yard signs everywhere. Don't get me wrong. I have seen a few good ones but the fact of the matter is most just do not do the candidate justice. I wont point any fingers but I have seen a logo for a particular candidate that looks quite weak. The font choice is wimpy and very weak. Now I personally don't view this person as a weak person and someone who is wimpy. But that is just how it is coming off. Look is everything when someone is driving by you want to grab the attention. You want that design / look to punch them in the face and wow them with it enough to grab that phone and go online.

My FAVORITE campaign logo out of anyone locally has got to be Jim Esch's. How brilliant is this? The traditional red white and blue every politician tries to convey but the stripes are layed out in a way to where it appears to be the initials of the candidate. And it's easy for anyone to figure this one out right away. That is usually the best design.

Oh and by the way. My dream has always been to design the branding for a political campaign. ;)
